So, what exactly is the Celebrants role?

This is a much asked question by brides and grooms when planning their wedding day and it is important that you understand what you need and deserve from your celebrant and of course what you are getting for your money.

Here is a list that outlines the services that should be included by your celebrant:

- A free no obligation appointment to meet before making any decisions.
- As many consultations, via phone, email or in person as you may require to complete the arrangements for your ceremony.
- A choice of standard ceremonies and the option of designing your own personal and unique ceremony.
- Explanation of all legal requirements and completion and lodgement of all necessary paperwork.
- Lodgement of the Notice of Intended Marriage Form (must be completed and lodged at least 1 month and 1 day prior to your wedding).
- Ensure that all legal requirements are carried out in accordance to the law.
- A full rehearsal at the venue.
- The Solemnisation of Marriage by a fully qualified authorised marriage celebrant.
- Your celebrant should arrive half an hour early to the wedding.
- You will receive a presentation marriage certificate and a copy of your ceremony.
- Explanation of how to apply for your official marriage certificate from the Department of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

You will even find that some celebrants will also provide the following at no extra charge:

- Provide the use of a wireless PA system with a wireless microphone.
- Provide you with the use of a ring pillow.
- Provide a signing table, tablecloth and chairs.
- A feather pen or a simple elegant pen for signing.
- Perform a mini ceremony during your wedding such as a sand or candle ceremony.
